EGF Youth Teams Cup
European Go Federation is organizing the 1st EGF Youth Teams Cup as the qualification tournament for a World Youth Teams event. In case Europe will get the same number of invitations as in 2025, the three national teams shall qualify in a team tournament held during EYGC 2026.
Team composition: three players aged 7-18 (born between 01/01/2008 and 31/12/2019) with an optional reserve player. All players must be citizens of the country they represent.
Date: Sunday, March 29, 2026
Tournament format: depending on the number of national teams registered
Tournament rules: Chinese, with 7.5 komi
Registration deadline: EGF-members should confirm the participation of their representative teams until 31st December 2025, line-ups (three players with an optional reserver and the team leader) should be registered by 28th February 2026.
Participation fee: none.
Prizes: a cup for the winner, medals for three best teams.
Important: if a player is invited to the EGF International team and decides to play for his or her national team, the invitation is not valid if the national team wins one of three qualification spots. If the national team does not qualify, the player has the right to accept the invitation to the EGF International team. Please see the details in the official EGF document (pdf).
